 Tropical Smoothie Franchise Development Corporation was formed in 1997. Originally we were a small smoothie shop with a tropical flare. The first franchised Tropical Smoothie was opened in Tallahassee, FL in October of 1997. It didn't take long for us to realize that people loved smoothies...but they were hungry for more than just smoothies! So in 1998 we started serving our gourmet wraps and coffee along with our line of smoothies. In 2000 we renamed our brand Tropical Smoothie Café to accommodate our full menu offering. Our entire décor has changes to reflect our image as a Café. We have now grown to over 125 stores, with about 50 opening next year. Our stores serve smoothies, gourmet wraps and sandwiches (featuring Boar's Head Brand Meats and Cheeses) and coffee. Tropical Smoothie Café is more than just great smoothies! Our gourmet wraps, specialty sandwiches and salads are made with only the highest quality Boar’s Head® meats and cheeses. In fact, like our famous smoothies, every ingredient we use in our food is of the highest quality.
